Cluster Wins are an alternative way of calculating winning combinations in video slots without conventional paylines. In games that feature Cluster Wins, identical game symbols (or combinations of identical symbols and Wilds) must be connected horizontally or vertically to count as a cluster. The number of matching symbols required to make a winning cluster depends on the size of the playing grid, but generally ranges from 3 to 5 symbols.

Most games featuring Cluster Wins clear winning symbols from the board, drop new symbols by way of Cascading Symbols, and provide “respins” until a turn occurs where no winning combination is made. These frequent respins are often accompanied by a progressive multiplier.
